Bulletins
2006.07.06 Robin Tivy Hut in good shape
We observed that the hut is still in good shape on our backcountry loop trip.
2004.10.16 Robin Tivy Roof and floor in good shape
We got to the hut well after dark in deep fog. The roof of the hut is a green metal roof and the floor is tongue and groove planking, and clean enough to sleep on. Cabin could use a broom however. There are about 6 cold metal chairs and one table. There is a small loft upstairs, but it had a bunch of old foamies in it. the cabin is an A frame, with two windows either side of the door at the front, and one larger one at the rear. Very dark inside, even at 9:00AM due to heavy forest cover. Water within 20 m of cabin in fresh creek by bridge. Swimming in summer from beach in front of cabin. The cabin has no stove, so it tends to be a dark hole in winter. We removed some trash. The logbook in the cabin shows it is used most weekends in the summer, and almost never in late fall and winter. I meant to take a photo of it for Bivouac, but forgot.
