There is a higher point of 2730m which is 720m from the official summit which clearly is the higher point of the mountain so it used for Bivouac purposes. Name Notes: Named by Interprovincial Boundary Survey after John Wilfred Shankland who was the son of Thomas and Wilhelmina Shankland who were from Fenelon Falls, Ontario.
