Deltaform from Larch Valley

This peak is #17 on the Height List for Alberta . This peak is #83 in Prominence List for Alberta . This peak is #24 on the Height List for British Columbia . Deltaform, peak eight in the Valley of the Ten Peaks and also known by its First Nations' name of Saknowa, is the only one of this group to exceed 11,000'. It is a spectacular mountain and offers a variety of mountaineering problems and challenges. It was first climbed in July of 1903 by A. Eggers and H.C. Parker, who were guided by the Kaufmann brothers; their route took the S ridge from Prospector's Valley, but it is unlikely that this approach is followed today with any frequency. The normal route is via the easy south glacier.

Name Notes: Named in 1897 by Walter D. Wilcox as the peak resembles the Greek letter "delta."
