This peak is #56 in Prominence List for Alberta . The highest point of the complex of peaks lying west of the Skoki valley and north of Boulder Pass. It is a rocky peak with a small glacier on its east face, and various ridges sprawling out in every direction. The long northwest ridge is called Merlin Ridge, the northeastern ridge is the Wall of Jericho, the eastern ridge extends out to Ptarmigan Peak and its southern ridge includes a minor summit called Whitehorn. The whole complex is sometimes referred to as the "Slate Range".
Name Notes: Named by James Hector in 1859, for Sir John Richardson, surgeon and naturalist on Franklin's Arctic expeditions.
