Tusk Peak is on picture right. Younghusband ridge is ahead. Story: This is taken during a ski traverse from Clemenceau Icefields to Columbia Icefields going from west to east. There are numerous routes for this traverse all weather dependant. It is also possible to basecamp at numerous places on this traverse and go peak-bagging. We base-camped at Tusk Glacier close to the regular place for Alpenglow Aviation to air-drop parties and food caches; the airplane can land there as the Glacier is wide at that spot and winds are generally pretty predictable at that area. From this location, it is also possible for an airplace to drop food caches or groups at the base of Apex Mountain. It would then be possible to tour south into the Shackleton Group or even possibly do a long day-trip to Tsar! You can also continue the traverse into the Chaba Icefields.
