| Ascent of Mount GEC Via Diadem Creek The party climbed Mount GEC from the Sumwapta River, via Diadem Creek. We hoofed it into Diadem Creek on Sat (23rd June) morning. Fording the Sunwapta River is quite passible (just over the knees), but damn cold. As one approaches the creek, going west there is a faint trail on the south side which takes one through the forest and onto the Diadem creek flats. <p>One can travel completely on the south side but it gets bushy in some places. As one reaches the westward margin of the valley it is best to stay on the south side until one is forced to go north towards the col. As one vers north the best footing can be found on a morraine that runs north south.... To see the full trip report including photos, java map and GPS waypoints, you must be a Paid Member |
