The Ram River and Glacier is not an area that most climbers have even heard of, much less know much about. But it is beautiful, wild, and remote country – although it is outside the park boundaries and the first two-thirds are riddled with outfitters’ camps and ATV tracks, it remains one of the most pleasant and enjoyable areas I have visited, especially the section above Upper Ram Falls. If you’ve got the time and energy, I highly recommend a trip up this valley even if only for backpacking.<p>But it is not an easy place to get to – the price of admission is pretty steep,...
